Slim Menubar Rainmeter Skin

Slim Menubar is a Rainmeter start-menu alternative built around an editable desktop menu bar. Its supplied example menu can be reworked through a JSON file, while a separate variables file controls appearance. The documented setup also reserves desktop work area so program windows do not cover the menu.

Setup and limits

In Rainmeter's settings, add DesktopWorkArea=0,27,0,0 and DesktopWorkAreaType=1 directly under [Rainmeter]. Open the MenuBar folder through Manage and edit data/menu.json for menu content. Edit data/variables.inc for appearance, then refresh after saving changes.

Menu customization requires valid JSON, including escaped backslashes and double quotes. The documented work-area adjustment prevents windows from obscuring menu interactions. Wallpaper Engine appears in sample screenshots, but the supplied text does not establish it as a requirement. Current Windows-build compatibility has not been independently verified; this research did not install or execute the skin.
