How DeskSpruce Reviews Rainmeter Skins

DeskSpruce is an independent directory of Rainmeter desktop skins and Windows cursor sets. The two catalogs are separate: cursor packages do not inherit Rainmeter requirements. We are not affiliated with Rainmeter, Microsoft or the listed creators. Existing preview credits and source links are preserved; source descriptions and link checks are not independent installation, safety or license verification.

DeskSpruce is an independent directory of Rainmeter skins and setup guides. A listed skin is not necessarily tested, actively maintained or suitable for your version of Windows.

What our labels mean

• Author-stated: the creator or original documentation makes the claim. We identify the source; we have not necessarily reproduced it.
• Tested: a recorded check names the Windows, Rainmeter and package versions, the date, the steps and the result. It covers that scenario, not every configuration.
• Unknown: the information has not been established. We do not turn missing requirements into a compatibility promise.
• Link checked: the destination was reachable when checked. That does not establish file safety, successful installation or permission to redistribute it.

How we prepare a page

We identify the creator, record the resource source and distinguish download files from author pages or stores. Requirements and installation instructions should refer to that resource, rather than a generic description copied across the directory.

We use AI to help research, organize and edit drafts. AI output is not evidence: factual claims need a source or a recorded test. We do not present AI-generated previews as screenshots, invent reviews, or claim an installation test that has not happened. A second automated review is not described as a human review.

Versions and updates

A link-check date and an installation-test date describe different checks. Neither makes the page permanently current. Where a creator does not state a requirement, we leave it unknown rather than labelling the resource compatible with the latest release.

Limits

We do not certify downloads as malware-free. A working link, a checksum or one successful installation cannot establish that. Weather, music and other integrations may depend on services outside the skin creator's control.
