Windows Wing, or WWing, is a Rainmeter top bar designed around hover-open overlays and a separate dock. It combines weather, Spotify information, Steam friends, volume and CPU indicators. The bar becomes opaque black when a maximized window or the Start menu is detected.

What this skin includes

  • Hovering over icons opens overlays.
  • Spotify overlay shows progress, album art, title and artist.
  • Steam overlay lists friends who are online and in-game.
  • Mouse-wheel volume control accompanies a stereo VU indicator.
  • CPU usage appears as a radial meter over the Start button.

Setup and limits

Install AutoHotkey 2.0 and Raptor's spotify.dll Rainmeter plugin. Put the Windows taskbar at the top of the screen and start a dock with system-tray support before running the skin. For a specific weather location, right-click the weather text and enter City,Country. Adjust the Steam URL variable if its generated friends-page address differs.

WWing hides the Windows taskbar while running and depends on a separate dock for system-tray access. Spotify requires the named plugin; Steam parsing depends on the documented profile URL pattern. The author reports occasional bar-opacity desynchronization and includes a separate executable for the Windows account picture. Current Windows-build compatibility has not been independently verified; this research did not install or execute the skin.
