Circle Launcher Rainmeter skin
Round launcher icons by Lybrica, with hover effects and configurable program paths. These launchers do not automatically restyle Windows shortcuts.
Circle Launcher by Lybrica adds round launcher icons to a Rainmeter desktop. The VisualSkins listing describes hover effects and several icon arrangements. It suits a setup where you want a chosen group of applications presented as matching circular launchers rather than ordinary desktop shortcuts.
These are Rainmeter launchers that you configure. Installing the package does not automatically convert Windows desktop icons, discover every installed application or change the icons throughout File Explorer. Plan to connect the launchers to the programs on your own computer.
Configure the program paths
The creator's instructions explicitly say to add each program's executable location to Resources\Variables.inc. An icon can look correct while pointing to a location that does not exist on your machine, so path setup is part of installation rather than an optional visual tweak.
Start with one application you recognize. Find its actual executable location, back up the variables file, and change the corresponding existing entry without altering the surrounding syntax. Do not assume a path from the author's computer matches your drive letters or installation folders.
Install and build your launcher arrangement
Circle Launcher requires Rainmeter on Windows. See the RMSKIN installation guide for the complete installer workflow.
- Download
circle-launcher.rmskinfrom the button below and open it in Rainmeter's Skin Installer. - Review the package contents and layout options, keeping backups enabled when replacing an existing skin.
- Install, then locate the Circle Launcher configurations in Rainmeter's Manage window. Load the launchers you intend to configure if they have not loaded automatically.
- Find the creator-documented
Resources\Variables.incfile inside the installed skin folder. Back it up and enter the correct executable paths for your chosen launchers. - Save your changes and refresh the affected skin. Check the first configured launcher before repeating the process for the others.
Keep your existing shortcuts until the launchers point to the right applications. Arrange the circles with enough separation to distinguish their hover states, then save your positions as a named layout. The customization guide covers configuration backups and layouts.
Choose it for launching, not power management
Circle Launcher organizes access to configured programs. Minimal Shutdown serves a different purpose: Windows power and session controls. Both belong among desktop controls, but one should not be treated as a substitute for the other.
Documentation note: hover effects and arrangements are described by VisualSkins; executable-path editing is specified by Lybrica. We have not installed the linked package or verified its included launcher set.
Common questions
Why does an icon appear but fail to open its program?
First check the executable location in the variables file. The icon's appearance does not establish that its configured path exists on your computer. Refresh the skin after saving a correction.
Will my Windows desktop shortcuts become round?
No. Configure and arrange the Rainmeter launchers separately; they do not automatically restyle existing Windows shortcuts.
