Appearance and choice

XCursor Pro provides a pointer family in Dark, Light and Red. The source specifies white outlines for the black and red fills, and a black outline for the white fill. These variants share one work identity and are not separate thin color pages.

The project documents Regular, Large and Extra-Large Windows size groups, distinct from its Linux Xcursor sizes. Compare the source preview at your intended pointer scale rather than assuming its name makes the Linux assets suitable for Windows. The primary link selects the Dark Windows ZIP.

These are alternative official assets for the same set:

Before changing your pointers

Custom colors in the README are build examples, not proof of additional ready-made release packages. DeskSpruce has not built the project, applied its scheme or tested its hotspots. The source Windows documentation establishes intended platform, not compatibility with every Windows release.

Extract the ZIP to a folder you can keep. If it supplies .cur or .ani pointer files, use the Windows Pointers dialog to browse for the file for each role, and save a named scheme. A ZIP is a container, .cur is a cursor file and .ani is an animated cursor file; an .inf is configuration, not a preview. Do not run unfamiliar installers merely to inspect the set. See the manual Windows cursor guide for the documented selection and restore path.
