BMedia Taskbar Widget puts track information, artwork and playback controls in a taskbar-oriented Rainmeter panel. Its intended position is the unused left side of a centered Windows 11 taskbar, although it can be moved elsewhere. The panel appears when a supported player is detected and hides when nothing is playing.

What this skin includes

  • Shows media progress and album art or thumbnails.
  • Clicking the progress bar seeks within the media.
  • Hovering over the title reveals volume controls.
  • Includes rewind, pause and forward buttons.
  • Middle-clicking refreshes the skin.

Setup and limits

Install Rainmeter, then download and open the latest skin release. Install the WebNowPlaying browser extension for browser-player detection. Start playback if the panel is initially hidden. Set its Rainmeter Position to Stay Topmost for taskbar placement; enable Draggable when you want to move it.

Browser playback detection requires the WebNowPlaying extension. The source specifically reports that volume control does not work with Spotify. Taskbar focus can temporarily obscure the skin, including briefly after focus leaves the taskbar. Current Windows-build compatibility has not been independently verified; this research did not install or execute the skin.
